‘Rope’ star on ‘Game of Thrones’ finale, ‘The Walking Dead’ season 3: ‘I’m not going anywhere’
HBO’s Game of Thrones finale wrapped with a cliffhanger, but the drama’s final installment, The Winds of Winter, doesn’t have much to say about its finale, but it’s not going away either.
“I’m going to be doing more, so I’ll keep you posted,” the actress, who’s reprising her role as Daenerys Targaryen, told TVLine of the finale’s fate.
“It’s been a fun ride, it’s been an exciting ride.
It’s a good time.
I’m just glad I get to keep on playing the Game of Thorns and the game.
It just kind of keeps on rolling.”
It’s been seven seasons since the Game began and many fans will be disappointed to learn that the show’s final episode, titled “The Winds of Thunder,” will not be the one that we’re most excited for.
The showrunners have not yet revealed any spoilers regarding what happens to Daeneries in the next season, but a lot has been made of Daenery’s sudden return, with some fans speculating that she’s dead for good.
“We’re not going to give away any details until we’re actually sitting down and watching it,” said HBO’s David Benioff.
“The Game of thorns is really just a continuation of the journey that we’ve been telling and building towards, and it’s exciting that we can say that now.”
In the meantime, fans should not be too disappointed with the finale, as the actress and her co-stars were not afraid to take some time to talk about their characters.
“Game of threes is so long,” said Dany, referring to the series’ eighth season.
“In the end, it all happens very quickly, and the people of Westeros have to survive the winter.
We’re going to try and make sure that everyone has the right amount of time to survive, and there are a lot of things that will happen in this last season that you’ll never see in the books.”
It was also revealed that the two main characters in The Winds will not remain on the show for long.
Dany’s younger sister, Cersei, is going to leave the show, with Daeneryn taking over the position as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
“What’s so exciting about this season is that we get to see Cersei and Dany as two completely different people,” said Beniof.
“She is a powerful queen who has a very different agenda than she did in the book, but she’s going to have to deal with the threat that Daenerye presents.
So she’s an extremely powerful woman in her own right.
She’s not afraid of anything.”
Beniofer added that Cersei’s departure is a major shift in the character of the show.
“One of the great things about the show is that people can be different and that we do allow that in,” he said.
“And it’s a great thing because it shows you the way in which you can be in this place, which is really exciting.
We’ve got so many different characters that have different agendas.
And that’s one of the things that we love about the books, and I think this season will be one of those where we get back to that.”
And while fans will likely be relieved to see Dany leave the game, they’ll also be disappointed by the fact that Daena will not follow her sister to the North.
“They’re not my characters,” said the actress.
“Dany is a very powerful woman.
She is not a pawn.
She does not have a lot to do with anything else.”
The Thrones series returns to HBO on September 10.
